I really believe fashion comes and goes, so I prefer to talk about style. That is why I “follow” designers much more than I look at collections as a source of inspiration.

I’ve decided to translate that focus on designers (not collections) onto this feature, “designer of the month”, where I will post some work from my favourite designers, in menswear as well as womenswear.

I will start with Umit Benan. Why? Because he is young, new and turkish, but mostly because his work is original and innovative.

Let’s start with his spring/summer 2010 collection, inspired by Cuba and the cubans.

I love the fact that all the models look like Umit’s twins.
